Legal and Commercial Manager - Reading

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Reading office, for a Legal and Commercial Manager to join the team. The ideal candidate will be tasked to provide a wide range of compliance/legal advice, be responsible for managing compliance pre & post-employment checks and responsible for managing all audit processes.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Reporting to and briefing senior members of the business on legal issues.
  • Reviewing client agreements, identifying risk and then carrying out subsequent contractual negotiations
  • Advising on and auditing the company's compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements affecting the recruitment sector
  • Reviewing and updating employment contracts
  • Manage contractual disputes with clients, candidates and suppliers
  • Manage enforcement of post restriction covenants and any disputes related to post restriction covenants employees
  • Drafting and implementing new internal policies
  • Establishing a risk register in respect of the key legal risks faced by the business and advising on ways in which to mitigate those risks.
  • Managing the company's data protection policy, and ensuring procedures are up to date and fit for purpose


  • Legally qualified or post graduate legal qualification
  • Experience gained from working in-house
