Roc Search are looking for a dynamic, authentic, forward thinking, and passionate .NET Support Software Engineer to join a well established Finance company in London. This role can be office based or fully remote. Our client need someone that can hit the ground running, working alongside the wider support team, demonstrating a good knowledge of Azure, C#/.NET development and client support soft skills.

The Support Software Engineer should be comfortable working in a support role, responding to support tickets, triaging bugs, investigating bugs, fixing issues and directing larger or more complex issues to the primary engineering team. Ultimately, the role of the Support Software Engineer is to take support tickets and take them through to fully resolved, working with the wider support and engineering teams as needed.

This role will be suited for someone who has a couple of years of experience commercially in .NET and wants a new challenge in a Fintech where they can learn and grow. There will be opportunities further down the line to move into the Development team on more greenfield project work.


Objectives (6-12 months)


- Triage tickets, identifying tickets that can be fixed within the support team and directing other tickets to the engineering team.
- Develop fixes in .NET, creating Pull Requests that are reviewed and deployed by the Release Team.
- Contribute towards helping the support team to operate smarter, more efficiently and towards a better support service to the wider business.
- Contribute to best practice for application support.
- Assist in writing unit and integration tests, within test environments to ensure code quality.
- Assist in defining the team's technical strategy and advising on product roadmaps and migration plans to achieve strategic goals.
- Write concise yet comprehensive technical documentation.
- Be responsible for work quality, ensuring it meets the technical standards for all output.
- Contribute towards communications to users who raise tickets, as well as the wider department.
