We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our key client in Stockport with at least five + years' experience in a similar role.
The ideal candidate will have experience designing bespoke equipment and automation solutions for customers. This could include special purpose/ bespoke machinery, packaging lines, conveyor systems, robotics or other automated systems & machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be designing bespoke and customised project designs for customers from concept to completion.
- Liaising with other departments including manufacturing, electrical design and also customers to ensure products are correct
- Carry out design & hand calculations and use FEA software
- Mentor junior design engineers and lead by example
- Solve problems and issues for customers in relation to their design requests
Key Attributes:
- Experience designing bespoke automation systems or similar
- Solidworks 3D proficient but would consider another software if the candidate has the right background and experience in automation/ machinery/ robotics
- Experience with hydraulics/ pneumatics beneficial
- Strong problem solver
