Job Description:
The business is seeking a talented and motivated WordPress Developer to join their dynamic team. As a WordPress Developer, you will play a crucial role in building, customising, and maintaining websites for their clients. You will work closely with the design, content, and marketing teams to deliver high-quality, user-friendly websites that align with their clients' business objectives and enhance their digital presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Customise WordPress Websites: Build custom WordPress themes and plugins tailored to client needs. Customise existing themes and plugins to meet specific project requirements.
- Website Maintenance and Updates: Regularly update and maintain client websites, ensuring they are secure, fast, and fully functional. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise.
- Collaborate with Design and Content Teams: Work closely with designers and content creators to implement visual and textual content, ensuring it aligns with the overall website design and functionality.
- Optimise Website Performance: Ensure websites are optimised for speed, SEO, and mobile responsiveness. Implement best practices for website performance, including image optimisation, caching, and code minification.
- Client Communication: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, provide progress updates, and deliver training on using the WordPress CMS where necessary.
- Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in WordPress development, digital marketing, and web technologies. Apply new techniques and tools to improve website functionality and user experience.
Requirements:
- Proven Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in WordPress development, with a strong portfolio showcasing custom themes, plugins, and responsive design.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL. Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and familiarity with front-end frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap).
- Design Acumen: Basic understanding of UX/UI principles and the ability to work with design tools like Adobe XD, Figma, or Sketch.
- SEO Knowledge: Familiarity with on-page SEO best practices and experience with SEO tools like Yoast SEO.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently manage projects from start to finish.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a digital marketing or creative agency environment.
- Familiarity with other CMS platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento) is a plus.
- Understanding of Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and other web analytics tools.
