Overview
We are working with a leading provider of white-labelled mobile applications tailored for SME clients in the Sports Teams, Community Groups, and Children's Activities space. As part of their ongoing growth, they require a Contract Test Engineer to take ownership of testing efforts across their mobile platforms.
This role will combine hands-on manual testing of existing iOS and Android apps with the strategic setup of automated testing processes that the business can scale and evolve over time. You'll play a key advisory role in selecting tools, frameworks, and best practices suitable for their product ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of end-to-end manual testing across multiple mobile applications (iOS & Android)
- Design and execute test plans, test cases, and exploratory testing scenarios
- Define and implement an automation testing strategy, including tooling and framework selection
- Build out the initial automation suite, focusing on scalability and maintainability
- Work closely with internal development teams and client stakeholders to ensure quality at every stage
- Set up test coverage for new features, regression testing, and CI/CD integration
- Act as a QA consultant, advising on test best practices and long-term quality roadmap
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in manual mobile application testing (iOS and Android)
- Experience working on white-labelled or multi-tenant mobile applications (preferred)
- Strong understanding of QA processes, tools, and agile environments
- Hands-on experience with at least one automation tool/framework (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Playwright, etc.)
- Ability to advise on test architecture and automation strategies
- Experience with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira) and test case management (e.g., TestRail, Xray)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and version control (GitHub, Bitbucket, Jenkins, etc.)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
