Roc Search Tech are currently working with a London‑based private investment banking and trading firm who is seeking an Azure Network Security Architect/SME for a 3+ month contract.

Hybrid - 2 days a week onsite

You will be supporting the review, validation, and enhancement of Azure Cloud implementation within a fast-paced investment banking and trading firm. The ideal candidate will provide expert guidance on securing cloud infrastructure, ensuring best practices are applied, and that the environment is fully aligned with industry security and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Review current Azure network and security architecture for completeness, security posture, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Identify gaps and recommend best-practice improvements in network segmentation, perimeter defense, identity access management, and monitoring.
  • Validate existing configurations (e.g., NSGs, ASGs, firewalls, VPNs, private endpoints, and routing) and ensure they meet security and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Cloud Ops, Security, DevOps) to support remediation and future-proofing strategies.
  • Provide guidance on governance frameworks, secure landing zones, and automated policy enforcement (e.g., Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud).
  • Document findings, recommendations, and actions clearly for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven expertise in Azure Network Security and architecture within highly regulated industries (preferably financial services).
  • Deep understanding of Azure-native security tools and services (Firewall, NSGs, Azure Bastion, Private Link, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel).
  • Experience with zero trust architectures and secure cloud adoption frameworks (e.g., CAF).
  • Strong grasp of compliance standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS benchmarks, and financial regulatory expectations (e.g., FCA, SEC).
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical issues to leadership.
