Job Title: Construction Planner - Civil Engineering (Contract) - Hybrid - 3 days/week on-site (North East) - Potential Long Term Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Construction Planner to support the delivery of a major civil engineering Infrastructure project. This contract offers a hybrid-working model with 3 days per week on-site in the North East and 2 days remote.

The successful candidate will develop and maintain detailed construction programmes, ensuring alignment with on-site activities and project milestones. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is keen to contribute to a significant infrastructure project over the long term.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and manage detailed construction programmes using Primavera P6 or equivalent software.
  • Coordinate planning activities across design, procurement, and construction phases.
  • Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and site managers to ensure programme accuracy and delivery tracking.
  • Provide regular progress updates, lookaheads, and reports to project leadership and stakeholders.
  • Identify potential scheduling risks and collaborate with the team to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure planning aligns with contractual milestones, resource plans, and construction methodologies.
  • Support preparation of planning inputs for commercial and claims-related documentation when needed.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Project Planner on large-scale civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6.
  • Strong knowledge of site-based construction methods, sequencing, and logistics.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid environment (on-site and remote).
  • Familiarity with NEC or similar contract frameworks.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in UK infrastructure, utilities, or energy sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of civils construction methods and practices.
  • Exposure to power distribution or converter station projects is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of schedule risk analysis techniques.
