The Role:
As a Laser Applications Development Engineer, you will:
Laser Applications Development:
- Interpret customer and project requirements to define processing strategies.
- Set up and configure laser and optical systems for optimal material interaction.
- Develop and refine laser processes through hands-on experimentation.
- Analyse and report on test results, ensuring robust documentation throughout.
Customer Engagement:
- Provide technical support to internal sales teams.
- Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to customers.
Collaboration with Engineering Teams:
- Work with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to align process requirements with machine design.
- Assist with process commissioning and customer acceptance testing on-site (occasional global travel required).
What we're looking for:
Essential:
- A degree in Physics, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years' experience in a research or development role.
- Strong understanding of lasers, optics, and laser materials processing.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
- Innovative mindset with a drive to enhance process efficiency.
- Team player with strong communication skills.
Desirable:
- Master's or PhD in a relevant subject.
- Experience in electronics or photovoltaic (PV) industries.
