Job Title: Lead Project Planner - Civil Engineering (Contract)
Location: Remote (with occasional travel to North East office)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Project Planner to support the delivery of planning and coordination of works, ensuring timely and effective delivery in a predominantly civil engineering environment.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives working remotely but can commit to occasional site or office visits. The role offers flexibility, a collaborative team environment, and a technically challenging project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning function for the project, ensuring robust schedules are developed, maintained, and monitored.
  • Use Primavera P6 to develop, update, and manage project plans across multiple stages of delivery.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to align project schedules with deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, contractors, and clients.
  • Provide clear reporting and progress updates to senior leadership and project stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify schedule risks and work with the team to mitigate potential delays.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Lead Planner on major complex civil / electrical engineering projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to clearly articulate plans, risks, and recommendations to various stakeholders.
  • Strong background in civil engineering / electrical environments.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while remaining highly collaborative.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working on UK Network distribution infrastructure projects.
  • Exposure to or experience with HVDC Converter Stations is a significant advantage.
