Senior Network Engineer
Location: Remote UK-based | Full-time
Salary: £50,000-£65,000 + Benefits Package

About the Role
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring high availability and performance across global datacentre networks. This role will see you lead and support key infrastructure projects, provide advanced incident response, and serve as a technical authority across a wide range of enterprise technologies.
You'll play a pivotal role in designing, deploying, and maintaining core network systems, and act as an escalation point for complex issues affecting critical environments. You will also be instrumental in mentoring junior team members and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues across multiple environments and regions.
- Manage and optimize backbone infrastructure leveraging OSPF, BGP, VPNs, and multi-gig connectivity.
- Lead medium-sized client projects including equipment deployment and network refreshes.
- Provide advanced support for enterprise firewalls, public cloud networks (Azure, AWS), and remote access technologies.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver seamless network solutions.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of network environments.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical team development.
Skills and Experience
- 8+ years of hands-on networking experience.
- Strong expertise with Juniper (SRX, EX) and Cisco (ISR, ASR, Nexus, Catalyst) platforms.
- In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, Ethernet, BGP, OSPF, VPN, QoS, NAT, DHCP, DNS, and ACLs.
- Proven experience in managing multi-datacentre, high-availability environments.
- Background in office and cloud network design and support.
- Proficiency with network monitoring and documentation tools.
- Familiarity with VMware networking and Azure-based solutions preferred.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and project management skills.
- Flexible and able to support on-call rotations and after-hours work as needed.
Qualifications
- CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Prior MSP (Managed Service Provider) experience is advantageous.
