Senior Service Technician

Location: Essex
Contract: Full-time

About the role

This is a hands-on senior field role focused on the long-term reliability and performance of utility-scale renewable energy assets. You'll take ownership of day-to-day technical activity across solar PV and battery energy storage sites, acting as a trusted point of expertise for fault diagnosis, maintenance delivery and site safety.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver planned and reactive maintenance.

• Diagnose and resolve faults across solar PV and battery storage assets.

• Complete inspections, reports and work orders.

• Supervise contractors, deliver site inductions and support safe systems of work.

• Participate in a weekend on-call rota (1 out of 3).

• Travel occasionally to support other operational regions.

• Take part in ongoing technical, on-site and classroom-based training, including opportunities for overseas training.

• Future potential for direct reports/managment.

Skills & experience

• Qualified Electrician or Electrical Engineer (BS 7671).

• Inspection & testing experience (City & Guilds).

• HV experience - AP/SAP training up to 33kV advantageous

• Solar PV installation and maintenance

• Experience with inverter / power conversion systems desirable

• Full, clean UK driving licence.
