Senior Project Manager - Electrical Transmission

Location: South Wales / South West (Hybrid with site travel)

Join a leading UK energy infrastructure provider working at the forefront of the transition to net zero. This organisation delivers end-to-end solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV infrastructure, metering, and home decarbonisation.

In this role, you'll be part of a specialist Electrical Transmission management team, responsible for delivering high-voltage substation and transmission projects - up to and including 400kV - for major clients including National Grid and SSE.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the construction team in delivering a portfolio of M&E projects from initiation to completion.
  • Provide strategic health, safety, and environmental leadership to achieve the highest standards.
  • Deliver projects to agreed time, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with the planning team to ensure robust delivery programmes and progress tracking.
  • Build a cohesive project management team ethos across Construction, Commercial, Design, and Engineering.
  • Drive proactive risk management and timely resolution of technical and contractual matters.
  • Contribute to tender bids with industry insight and expertise.
  • Support monthly cost value reconciliations with the Commercial Manager.
  • Lead the team to achieve financial targets and deliver against key performance measures.

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years' proven leadership on large design-and-build projects, managing cross-functional teams.
  • National Grid substation build experience, including knowledge of NG SRs, Rules, EPC/M&E frameworks.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with clients and suppliers.
  • Construction/engineering qualification and/or relevant experience.
  • Project management certification (APM, PMP, or equivalent).
  • Strong commercial experience with NEC contracts (especially Option C).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risk and opportunity effectively.
  • Sound regulatory knowledge (HSWA, CDM, EAWR, etc.).
  • Budget management experience with a track record of delivery to time and cost.
  • Proficiency in project management software.
