Staff Mobile Engineer

A fast-growing technology company in the connected-home space is looking for a Staff Mobile Engineer / Mobile Lead to define and build the next generation of its mobile experience. This is a unique opportunity to set the technical direction, architecture, and foundations for both homeowner and contractor mobile apps that are used at scale in real-world environments.

You'll work closely with top-tier designers and partner with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to build a modern mobile platform that powers intelligent, data-driven product experiences across iOS and Android.

What You'll Do

• Lead mobile architecture, technical strategy, and long-term roadmap for two core mobile apps.

• Build foundational systems-design systems, component libraries, networking, state management, telemetry-to support rapid development and scalability.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to ship high-quality, high-performance mobile features across iOS and Android (React Native or similar cross-platform technologies).

• Establish high standards for code quality, testing, release processes, and developer experience.

• Mentor and grow a small, high-caliber mobile engineering team.

• Integrate mobile experiences with an AI-driven platform that powers real-time insights and predictive capabilities.

• Work closely with designers to deliver polished, intuitive, and delightful user experiences.

What You'll Bring

• 8+ years of mobile development experience, including leading a 0 → 1 → scale mobile product.

• Deep expertise in React Native (or Flutter, Ionic etc) and the ability to select the right technology for the job.

• Strong background in mobile architecture, modular codebases, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Excellent understanding of UX and design quality, with comfort partnering closely with designers.

• Experience integrating mobile apps with distributed backend systems and APIs.

• Comfort working in an environment where AI, data, and real-time system intelligence play a central role.

• A hands-on builder mindset-someone who loves shipping elegant, reliable products.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to bridge design goals, product strategy, and technical trade-offs.
