Senior / Principal Geotechnical Engineer

We are supporting a growing engineering and environmental consultancy in the appointment of an experienced Geo-Environmental / Geotechnical Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to work across a varied project portfolio within a collaborative and supportive team.

The Role

You will be responsible for the delivery of a range of site investigation, geotechnical, and environmental projects, including:

  • Planning and managing ground investigations using a variety of techniques
  • Interpreting site data to support engineering design and development projects
  • Logging and sampling soils and groundwater in accordance with relevant standards
  • Supporting and delivering land quality and environmental assessments across multiple project stages
  • Developing site understanding and assessing potential risks
  • Preparing technical documentation and reports to a high standard
  • Supporting environmental and earthworks-related activities where required
  • Assisting with monitoring and interpretation of ground conditions
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams to support project delivery

About You

  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science)
  • Ideally working towards or holding a professional qualification
  • Experience within a geotechnical, geo-environmental, or site investigation role
  • Comfortable managing site-based activities and technical reporting
  • Good understanding of relevant guidance, standards, and best practice
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a wider team
  • Committed to continuous professional development
  • Full UK driving licence
