Automation Test Lead

We're working with a growing consultancy that delivers large-scale web applications and digital platforms for well-known public sector and enterprise organisations across the UK.

As they continue to invest in their engineering capability, they're looking for an Automation Test Lead to drive automation strategy, lead a talented QA team, and help embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

This Automation Test Lead is a hands-on leadership role with genuine influence over automation frameworks, testing standards and QA best practice across a diverse portfolio of digital projects.

The Role

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of QA Engineers
• Own and evolve the automation testing strategy
• Design and enhance automation frameworks using Selenium or Playwright
• Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Owners and stakeholders to embed quality throughout the SDLC
• Drive automation maturity, CI/CD integration and continuous improvement

About You

• Strong background in software test automation
• Commercial experience with Selenium or Playwright
• Experience designing and implementing automation frameworks
• Previous leadership or mentoring experience (or ready to step into a Lead role)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Consultancy or client-facing software delivery experience would be advantageous
