Product Manager & Technical Product Manager Opportunities
Location: High Wycombe
Type: Permanent, Full-time with hybrid after probation
Hours: Monday-Friday, 37 hours per week
We are working with a successful global water technologies business that is looking to appoint two Product-focused professionals to support its growing water purification portfolio.
These are two complementary but distinct opportunities. One role is focused on commercial product management, market analysis and product strategy, while the other is focused on technical product ownership, customer support and technical documentation.
Product Manager
The Product Manager will take ownership of the commercial product strategy for a specialist water purification portfolio, understanding market trends, customer requirements and competitor activity to drive product development and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop the product vision, strategy and long-term roadmap.
- Conduct market, competitor and customer analysis.
- Identify market trends, customer needs and commercial opportunities.
- Work with Sales and Marketing on product positioning and value propositions.
- Support go-to-market strategies and new product launches.
- Manage the product lifecycle from development through to post-launch optimisation.
- Gather customer and market feedback to inform product development.
- Provide product knowledge and competitive insight to sales teams.
- Communicate product updates, performance and roadmap progress to stakeholders.
- Work with R&D and technical teams to ensure products meet market expectations.
- Support customer and application discussions where required.
- Undertake occasional international travel to customers, exhibitions and commercial training events.
About You
We'd be interested in candidates with experience in Product Management, Product Marketing, Commercial Product Management or a similar role.
You should have:
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of market dynamics.
- Experience with market and competitor analysis.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to understand customer needs and translate them into product opportunities.
- Strong presentation, influencing and negotiation skills.
- A degree or equivalent in Science, Engineering or a related discipline would be desirable, but is not essential.
Experience within water, chemicals, medical devices, clinical, laboratory or other technical products would be advantageous.
Technical Product Manager
The Technical Product Manager will take technical ownership of the water purification product portfolio, working closely with Engineering, R&D and Technical Support teams throughout the product lifecycle.
This role is suited to someone with a strong technical background who enjoys problem-solving, customer interaction, technical support and communicating complex product information.
Key Responsibilities
- Take technical ownership of the product portfolio.
- Translate technical and customer requirements into clear product specifications.
- Work with Engineering and R&D throughout product development.
- Support technical decision-making and product development.
- Investigate and resolve technical and quality issues.
- Provide technical support for customer and application enquiries.
- Support product testing and gather real-world performance feedback.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, datasheets, operator manuals and training materials.
- Deliver technical product training to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and share technical product knowledge across the organisation.
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Engineering and Technical Support.
- Gather technical customer feedback to support product improvements.
- Participate in customer visits, technical investigations and quality-related activities.
- Undertake some international travel.
About You
We're interested in candidates with experience in Technical Product Management, Product Engineering, Applications Engineering, Technical Support or a similar technical role.
You should have:
- A degree or equivalent in Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
- The ability to interpret and communicate technical information clearly.
- Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience producing or managing technical documentation would be advantageous.
Experience within water, chemicals, medical devices, clinical, laboratory or other technical equipment would be advantageous.
