Electrical Design Engineer - Special Purpose Machinery

The Opportunity

We're recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading manufacturer of bespoke automation and special purpose machinery.

You'll play a key role in designing electrical control systems for complex manufacturing equipment, working alongside automation and mechanical engineering teams to deliver innovative machinery for customers worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN.
• Design electrical control panels and machine wiring layouts.
• Develop PLC I/O architecture and control system documentation.
• Specify sensors, instrumentation, drives and safety systems.
• Produce electrical BOMs and technical documentation.
• Support commissioning and machine build activities.
• Work closely with software engineers on PLC integration.

Requirements

• Electrical Design experience within machinery or automation.
• Experience designing control panels and machine electrical systems.
• Understanding of PLC control systems.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and industrial automation.
• AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN experience.
