Roc-Search Europe are now recruiting for a detail-oriented and proactive Planning.
Hybrid working with 1 -2 days per week from the offices in Derbyshire or Worcestershire
In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring complex schedules for utility-scale ground-mounted solar farm projects.
The ideal candidate possesses deep technical expertise in both Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project (MSP), with a proven track record of navigating the unique logistical and environmental challenges of renewable energy construction. You will act as the "heartbeat" of the project, ensuring that engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) milestones stay on track.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule Development: Create baseline schedules for the full project lifecycle, from site preparation and piling to tracker installation and grid connection.
- Software Management: Expertly manage schedules using Primavera P6 (for enterprise-level reporting) and MSP (for subcontractor or specific site coordination).
- Progress Monitoring: Conduct weekly site progress updates, identifying variances between "Planned vs. Actual" performance.
- Critical Path Analysis: Perform regular Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis to identify potential bottlenecks in the solar supply chain or construction phases.
- Resource Loading: Manage man-hours and equipment requirements within the schedule to ensure efficient site deployment.
- Reporting: Generate Earned Value Management (EVM) reports, S-Curves, and executive dashboards for stakeholders.
- Risk Mitigation: Assist the Project Manager in identifying schedule risks (e.g., weather delays, delivery lead times) and developing "what-if" recovery scenarios.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Software Usage
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project is mandatory.
Industry Experience
3-5+ years of planning experience, specifically within ground-mounted solar or large-scale renewables.
Technical Knowledge
Solid understanding of solar-specific workflows: DC/AC cabling, inverter stations, and HV substation works.
Analytical Skills
Strong grasp of Earned Value Management (EVM) and delay analysis methodologies (e.g., TIA).
Preferred Attributes
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where weather and logistics can shift daily priorities.
- Communication: Ability to translate complex data into clear insights for site supervisors and corporate executives alike.
- Certification: PMP, PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional), or equivalent certifications are a significant plus.
