Contract - EDS Engineer - Vehicle Electrical Engineering - Potential Long-Term Contract
We are seeking an experienced EDS Engineer for a contract role supporting the design and delivery of vehicle electrical systems and wiring harnesses across ICE and BEV platforms.
This is a hands-on role with full lifecycle responsibility, from concept through to production, within a global engineering environment focused on quality delivery and continuous improvement.
Overview
You will take ownership of vehicle electrical system design, ensuring robust integration and delivery across complex automotive programmes. The role involves close collaboration with global and offshore teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop vehicle electrical systems and wiring harnesses
- Own electrical system design across ICE and BEV platforms
- Perform 3D harness routing (HV & LV) using CAD tools
- Conduct detailed design reviews
- Support resolution of production and field issues
- Maintain clear documentation and project tracking
- Collaborate with global/offshore engineering teams
- Promote strong safety, quality, and engineering standards
Essential Skills
- Strong understanding of schematics and bundle drawings
- Automotive electrical systems and wiring harness experience
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Organised, proactive, and team-focused approach
Desirable
- Experience with Saber ESD
- Experience with Creo Cabling
- 3D harness routing and packaging
- Knowledge of electrical architecture / system integration
- Six Sigma or automotive quality awareness
Requirements
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in vehicle electrical/electronic systems
- Experience delivering systems from concept to production
