Software Developer- Melksham (Office Based)- Permanent- Up to £65k depending on experience
Our client based in Melksham are on the lookout for a highly motivated Software Developer to join an experienced in-house team building and improving business-critical systems. This is a hands-on role focused on developing robust internal applications, solving real operational problems and supporting a fast-moving business environment.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain scalable applications using PHP, MySQL and JavaScript
* Improve existing systems for performance, usability and reliability
* Troubleshoot technical and business-critical issues
* Work closely with internal teams to deliver effective software solutions
* Use modern development tools, including AI-assisted workflows
Key skills and experience:
* Strong PHP 7/8 experience with solid OOP principles
* Strong MySQL and relational database knowledge
* HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript experience
* Python knowledge, ideally with exposure to AI projects
* Experience with VSCode and AI-assisted development tools
* Ability to work independently and solve complex problems
Desirable skills:
* AWS, Docker, Git, Redis, RabbitMQ
* SQL Server, ElasticSearch/Lucene
* Linux server administration via SSH
